There are many things you must learn if you expect to succeed as an author. In addition to having a sound understanding of the rules of grammar, punctuation and syntax, you must also be able to weave the words into a story or message. This message must attract and hold the interest of your readers and also paint a picture or explain concepts effectively in their minds.
Once you have your words in what you consider final format, you MUST enlist the help of a qualified, competent editor to proofread and make suggested changes to your work. Only then are you ready to move on to the production phase of your book.
